Website Accessibility Policy
We are committed to making our website services accessible to everyone. We have a website accessibility team and have made improvements to our website to make it easier for people with disabilities to use. We are also investing resources to meet evolving accessibility standards, including those standards in 36 CFR Parts 1193 and 1194 dated January 18, 2017.
Here are a few of the improvements we have made and are continuing to make to our website:
Language Tagging
Each page is being structured with appropriate language tags to support assistive technologies, including screen readers and Braille translators. We are also working to provide sign language interpretation and prerecorded audio content in synchronized media as an alternative to text.
More Label Tags
We have added more labels and titles to make it easier to find content and reduce keystrokes needed to navigate.
Image Text Alternatives
We are adding and improving text alternatives (alt text) for images throughout our site so people with visual or cognitive disabilities can locate and understand content. We are also working to ensure content can be found without relying on color alone.
Easier Keyboard Access
We have improved keyboard navigation so visitors can find what they are looking for without requiring a mouse or touch device, and we will continue to enhance this functionality.
Resizing Text
We are making it easier to adjust text size, font, and line spacing. Large-scale text and images of large-scale text will meet a contrast ratio of at least 3:1 as these updates are completed, and zoom options will help enlarge images when needed.
Video and Audio Controls
We are adding easy-to-find controls for prerecorded audio and visual content.
Partial Conformance Where Full Accessibility Is Not Possible
Some pages may not fully conform to current accessibility standards if accessibility support does not exist for certain content. When this occurs, we make every effort to meet guidelines and provide accessible alternatives. If you encounter inaccessible content, please contact us during business hours and we will provide the information you need.
Web Accessibility Partner
We work with a web accessibility partner to update our website and content and to integrate new features that improve usability. We are committed to ongoing collaboration to enhance accessibility for everyone.
Future Changes
We will continue to follow evolving accessibility standards and improve our systems to increase access to our services and products.
We believe in access to knowledge for all users. If you find something on our website that is not accessible to you, please let us know—your feedback helps us make the site better for everyone.
